During it's first time of service till today the F-15 and their crew have
operated in various combat scenarios.
The best know conflict was Desert Shield and Desert Storm
(Gulf War 1991) The USAF deployed 120 F-15s from various bases, securing the
airspace in the surrounding countries of Iraq, and achieving air superiority in
Iraqi air space within the first stages of the Gulf War with -0- losses to enemy
aircraft. It was also the first time the F-15E Strike Eagle was deployed in a
combat scenario and made a “trial by fire” to be mission ready before. After the
Gulf War the F-15s participated in various Peace operations and conflicts,
always securing the air space and ready to strike any target when a treat
arises.
